Senior Data Engineer – Global Asset Management – London – Hybrid

We’re partnering with a leading asset manager that is making a significant investment in its data and analytics capabilities. As part of this growth, the firm is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to help lead the development, optimisation, and long-term direction of a modern, Snowflake-centric data platform.

This role is well suited to an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 5–9 years’ experience who enjoys taking ownership of complex data solutions, setting best practices, and working closely with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading the design, development, and optimisation of end-to-end data solutions using SQL, Python, and robust data transformation techniques.

  • Driving the migration of legacy datasets into Snowflake, and building scalable, cloud-native Python data pipelines that power analytics and reporting.

  • Taking ownership of the Snowflake data platform, with responsibility for performance, reliability, and engineering best practices.

  • Improving and modernising existing SQL processes and C# workflows, ensuring high data quality and efficient day-to-day operations.

  • Partnering with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable data products.

  • Contributing to data governance initiatives and broader platform enhancements as the data ecosystem continues to evolve.

What we’re looking for

  • 5–9 years’ professional hands-on experience in data engineering, with strong hands-on skills in SQL and Python.

  • Proven experience designing, building, and supporting complex data pipelines and data products in production environments.

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms, with exposure to Snowflake.

  • Experience working in AWS (or comparable cloud environments).

  • A deep appreciation for data quality, governance, and operational excellence.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
