Equity Analyst (UK Coverage) – Leading UK Asset Manager
Our client, a leading UK-based asset manager, is looking to grow its UK Equities investment team with the addition of an Equity Analyst. The firm is seeking a strong idea generator, someone who is passionate about stock picking and thrives in a high-performance, collaborative environment.
The team operates with a long-term horizon, investing across all-cap UK equities as sector generalists, following a quality-growth investment philosophy. With an average holding period of 5+ years, this role would suit candidates who think like owners, and are strongly aligned with long-term value creation.
Responsibilities
Conduct bottom-up fundamental research across UK-listed equities
Identify high-quality, undervalued businesses with sustainable growth potential
Build and maintain financial models, perform valuation analysis, and assess competitive positioning
Engage directly with company management teams, industry experts, and other stakeholders
Communicate investment ideas and recommendations clearly to the broader investment team
Monitor existing holdings and update views based on new information or changes in market dynamics
Requirements
~3 years’ buyside equity investment experience, ideally within a long-only asset manager.
Some exposure to UK equities, either as a dedicated UK specialist or as part of a broader mandate (e.g. pan-European) with UK names forming part of coverage
CFA Charterholder (having successfully completed all 3 levels, ideally with first-time passes)
Demonstrable interest and passion for equity investing, evidenced through participation in university investment societies, personal account investing (and research), reading core-texts within value investing (i.e. Benjamin Graham’s, Intelligent Investor), or similar.
Demonstrated ability to originate and articulate high-conviction investment ideas
Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with a deep understanding of accounting and business analysis
