Junior Data Engineer – £50,000–£55,000 – London (Hybrid/On-Site)

Industry: Tech / Data / Start-up

We are partnering with a fast-growing, tech-driven startup to hire a Junior Data Engineer for their London-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience who’s eager to work across the full data lifecycle — from ingestion and transformation to automation and deployment — in a highly technical, agile environment.

The Role

You’ll join a collaborative data engineering team helping build a modern, cloud-native data platform. Working directly with experienced engineers, you'll gain hands-on exposure to tools like Python, AWS Lambda, S3, Glue, Athena, SQS, Docker, and more.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and maintaining data pipelines using AWS and Python

  • Supporting analytics, reporting, and internal tools through clean, reliable data

  • Applying best practices in testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

  • Writing well-documented, production-ready code in a collaborative environment

  • Learning and adapting quickly to new tools and workflows

What We're Looking For:

  • 1–2 years' experience in a data engineering or technical role

  • Strong programming fundamentals, ideally in Python

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

  • Interest in topics like containers, messaging systems, and scalable data workflows

  • An eagerness to learn, take ownership, and contribute to a growing team

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to work in a startup environment where your ideas and contributions will have a visible, real-world impact. If you're a self-starter with a passion for building scalable, modern data infrastructure — this is the perfect next step.
