2-5 Yrs’ Exp. Economist – LATAM Markets- Hedge Fund- New York

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global macro hedge fund in New York, seeking a talented Economist with a focus on LATAM markets. This role is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who are eager to apply their expertise to real-world markets.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth macroeconomic research and analysis with a focus on LATAM markets.

• Monitor economic indicators, policy developments, and geopolitical events to provide actionable insights.

• Collaborate with portfolio managers to inform trading strategies, particularly in sovereign debt markets.

• Prepare and deliver high-quality research reports and presentations on economic trends in the region.

Candidate Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Economics or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of LATAM economies, with expertise in macroeconomics and sovereign debt.

• Experience in a central bank, hedge fund, or similar environment is highly desirable.

• Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

• Candidates must already have work authorization in the US, such as OPT; the firm cannot sponsor visas.
