Equity Analyst – Single Manager Hedge Fund (European Activist) – London

A leading European activist hedge fund is actively seeking a high-calibre Equity Analyst to join its lean, high-performing team. This is a rare opportunity to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to decision-makers and portfolio construction.

The Role:

  • You will play a key role in driving fundamental research and investment ideas across European equities, with a strong focus on under-researched, undervalued, or strategically misaligned companies. This role offers real ownership, deep company engagement, and the chance to contribute directly to an activist investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and develop high-conviction equity investment ideas across a broad range of European sectors (generalist coverage).

  • Conduct deep-dive fundamental analysis, financial modelling, valuation, and scenario testing.

  • Track, monitor and update investment theses, including ongoing contact with company management and stakeholders.

  • Support activist engagement strategies and develop persuasive, well-reasoned arguments to unlock shareholder value.

  • Collaborate closely with a small, senior team in a flat and fast-moving structure.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ buyside experience, ideally within a long/short equity fund, family office, or activist-focused investment firm.

  • A strong track record analysing European listed companies, with a preference for generalist coverage.

  • You must have exposure to activist strategies.

  • Strong commercial instincts, excellent financial modelling skills, and the confidence to defend your views at the highest level.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the resilience to work autonomously in a lean team structure.
