Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and potential investment opportunities.
• Research U.S. and global equity market inefficiencies using fundamental, expectational and market data.
• Develop and test statistical approaches to assess investment hypotheses.
• Build new investment models and enhance existing models through original research and novel data sources.
• Review asset pricing and financial literature to inform research and generate ideas.
• Develop innovative investment strategies and contribute to research across the investment process.
• Communicate findings clearly and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
The ideal candidate will bring:
• A PhD in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least three years of empirical equity research experience.
• A strong background in technical computing and statistics.
• Familiarity with fundamental, expectational and market data.
• Solid knowledge of asset pricing literature, good economic intuition and a demonstrated record of original research.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, Julia or C++.
• An independent, self-motivated approach and a passion for equity investing.
• The ability to explain complex technical concepts and work effectively across teams.
Experience with large datasets and parallel programming is preferred. Familiarity with alternative data, machine learning, natural language processing or AI engineering would also be valuable.
This is a role that offers the chance to turn original research into equity investment strategies. You’ll join a collaborative research team where original thinking and empirical rigour shape the investment process.
This role offers the opportunity to take research from initial idea through to practical investment application. You’ll work alongside experienced investment professionals, contribute to an established investment business, and help connect quantitative evidence with fundamental insight.
