US Policy Analyst – New York

Senior Associate / Director Level

We are working with a leading private sector client in New York to recruit an experienced US Policy Analyst at the Senior Associate or Director level. This is a unique opportunity for a policy professional to lead advisory work across US foreign and domestic policy while managing and expanding a portfolio of high-profile clients.

The role:

  • As a senior member of the team, you will:

    • Provide expert analysis and strategic advice on US policy, international relations, and geopolitical risk.

    • Lead and deliver client engagements, ensuring the highest standard of advisory output on key topics such as US foreign policy, infrastructure, China, and G7 summits.

    • Actively manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and cultivating long-term relationships.

    • Drive business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities, pitching new services, and expanding the client base.

    • Produce sharp, insightful written products including policy briefs, memos, and strategic reports tailored to client needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • We are seeking candidates with 7–12 years’ experience in policy analysis or advisory roles, ideally within a consultancy, think tank, or international organization. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

    • Proven experience in client delivery, relationship management, and business development within a professional services or advisory environment.

    • Excellent writing and communication skills, supported by a portfolio of published briefs, memos, or similar outputs.

    • A strong track record of monitoring and analysing US economic, regulatory, political, and security developments.

    • Direct experience working with senior stakeholders and clients, providing strategic counsel and managing expectations.

    • Deep understanding of US foreign policy — prior engagement with or advisory experience related to the US government (White House, Congress, or Senate) is highly desirable.

    • Subject matter expertise in areas such as China, technology, or environmental policy (a plus).

    • Leadership capabilities, including team-building or managing junior staff.

    • A relevant Master’s degree (preferred).

Additional Desirable Experience:

  • Advising diplomats, researchers, or communications professionals.

  • Experience writing for high-level audiences or publishing thought leadership pieces.
