China Economist- Hedge Fund- Hong Kong

We are currently working on behalf of a highly esteemed hedge fund based in Hong Kong who are actively looking to expand their macro economics team. They are looking for an experienced and reputable China Economist to join the team at a senior level and lead the research efforts in the region.

The role:

  • Conduct research and forecasting on the China economy

  • Collaborate closely with the portfolio managers and investment teams

  • Collaborate closely with the other economists/ research team in the fund

  • Oversee macroeconomic developments in other Asian markets where appropriate.

The requirements:

  • 8-12 years’ experience as an economist in an investment bank or buy side firm

  • Degree in Economics or relevant field, PhD preferred

  • Proven track record in forecasting for the China economy

  • Excellent written/ verbal communication skills
