Corporate Bond Analyst (European IG) – Boutique Asset Manager, London

Octavius Finance, a specialist recruiter within financial markets, is partnering with a leading boutique asset manager to identify a European Investment Grade Credit Analyst to join its established investment platform.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative credit investment team focused on analysing high-quality European corporate issuers and supporting the management of investment grade portfolios. The role offers excellent exposure to fundamental credit research, relative value analysis and the wider investment process, working closely with experienced investors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious analyst with around 2–4 years’ experience to develop their credit expertise within a specialist investment environment. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of sectors and issuers, while building their understanding of portfolio construction and investment decision-making.

The role also offers a clear opportunity for long-term progression, with the potential to develop towards a more senior investment position and, over time, portfolio management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting fundamental credit analysis on European investment grade corporate issuers.

  • Analysing company financials, business models, industry dynamics and key credit risks.

  • Supporting the identification of relative value opportunities and investment ideas.

  • Assisting Portfolio Managers with research, idea generation and portfolio discussions.

  • Monitoring existing holdings and developments across sectors and issuers.

  • Building and maintaining financial models and issuer research.

  • Preparing credit research notes, sector analysis and investment materials.

  • Working collaboratively with the wider investment team across the portfolio management process.

Requirements

  • Approximately ~2–4 years’ experience in credit research, investment analysis or a related role, with exposure to investment grade credit. Buyside experience is strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of corporate credit markets and fundamental analysis.

  • Experience analysing company financials and assessing credit fundamentals.

  • Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in credit investing.

  • Ability to develop well-reasoned investment views and communicate them clearly.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to research.

  • Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative investment team.
