Decision Analyst – Behavioural & Investment Insight

Location: London
Type: Permanent | Hybrid working model
Experience: 6+ years in financial data analytics

A leading global investment management firm is seeking a highly skilled and intellectually curious Decision Analyst to join their behavioural and decision analytics function. This is a distinctive opportunity to apply quantitative methods and behavioural insights to real-world investment challenges in a team that sits at the intersection of data science, psychology, and portfolio strategy.

You’ll work closely with front-office investment professionals, providing bespoke analytical insight into decision-making patterns, with the aim of strengthening and evolving the investment process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis on investment decisions to highlight trends, behaviours, and areas for improvement.

  • Deliver clear, well-supported recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping to shape investment thinking and strategy.

  • Collaborate with behavioural science experts to apply evidence-based methodologies to data-driven insights.

  • Develop strong relationships with portfolio managers and analysts to understand their decision-making frameworks.

  • Own and deliver projects from concept to completion, balancing rigour with practical application.

  • Contribute to long-term research initiatives that challenge conventional thinking and improve performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and intellectual exploration.

  • 6+ years’ experience working with financial or investment-related data in a research or analytics capacity.

  • High proficiency in either Python or R, with proven experience in statistical modelling and data interpretation.

  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and persuasively to a non-technical audience.

  • Interest or background in behavioural science, psychology, or decision theory is highly desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Candidates must have existing UK work authorisation.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work in a specialised team that is influencing investment outcomes through behavioural insight and data-driven advice.

  • Collaborate directly with highly respected investors in an open, non-hierarchical environment.

  • Be part of a firm that values independent thinking, rigorous analysis, and continuous improvement.

  • Gain exposure to cutting-edge approaches in decision science applied within the investment domain.

This is not a traditional analyst role. If you’re excited by the opportunity to influence real-world decisions, thrive in an intellectually demanding environment, and want to work where your insights can make a measurable difference, we’d love to hear from you.
