Fixed Income/FX Macro Strategist (Associate / VP) – New York
We’re working with a leading global investment bank seeking a Macro Research & Strategist to join their team in New York. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on macroeconomic research, quantitative modelling, and market strategy, contributing to investment decision-making across global FX and fixed income markets.
The Opportunity:
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing macroeconomic frameworks and market strategies that inform investment views across both developed and emerging markets. You'll collaborate closely with trading, sales, and investment teams to translate your analysis into trade ideas.
Responsibilities:
Conduct rigorous macroeconomic and financial research using econometric techniques, market data, and proprietary indicators
Build and maintain quantitative models to forecast key macro variables such as GDP, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates
Analyze global economic, policy, and geopolitical developments to identify investment opportunities in FX and fixed income markets
Publish research reports and thematic pieces with clear, actionable investment recommendations
Partner with trading and sales to generate and refine trade ideas aligned with macro views and relative value themes
Interact with a wide range of institutional clients, including hedge funds, real money investors, and corporates
What We’re Looking For:
3–7 years’ experience in macroeconomic research, strategy, or quantitative analysis, with exposure to global markets
Strong background in econometrics, time series modeling, or machine learning applied to macro and market data
Proficiency in Python; familiarity with data visualization, automation, and large-scale data processing is a plus
Sound understanding of FX and fixed income markets and how macroeconomic developments translate into trade opportunities
Clear and concise communicator with experience publishing research and presenting to internal stakeholders and clients
