Corporate Broker – UK SMID Capital Raising, Independent Brokerage – London

Our client, a leading independent UK equity brokerage is looking to hire a junior Corporate Broker / Sales professional to support and execute capital raises for UK-listed SMID and micro-cap companies (typically £50m–£300m market capitalisation).

The business operates as part of a broader global capital platform, providing deep investor access, institutional-grade infrastructure and international reach, while retaining the agility and earnings potential of a specialist boutique. The focus is firmly on UK public markets, with all clients listed in London.

This is a front-office, revenue-generating role, working closely with senior partners who lead on transaction structuring and execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in investor engagement, capital raising and relationship development across the UK SMID ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the origination and execution of UK equity fundraisings for listed SMID companies

  • Attend and participate in management meetings alongside senior partners

  • Actively engage with UK and international small-cap investors, including HNW individuals, family offices and funds

  • Develop and maintain long-term investor relationships, with the opportunity to build and grow a personal book

  • Regularly speak with investors to understand demand, preferences and market appetite

  • Represent corporate clients to the investment community in a clear, credible and commercial manner

This role does not involve research production or trading. It is a pure corporate broking and capital markets position.

Role Requirements:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a relevant front-office or client-facing role

  • Backgrounds of interest include:

    • Corporate broking or equity sales

    • Capital access or investor relations

    • Small-cap analytics, PR or communications

    • Independent or boutique investment firms

  • A working understanding of UK SMID public markets is essential

  • Commercial, articulate and confident dealing with senior management and investors

  • Highly motivated, ambitious and comfortable operating in a performance-led environment

  • Resilient and adaptable, with an understanding of the cyclical nature of capital markets

  • Existing investor relationships are advantageous but not essential

  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK

Candidates from large, highly structured bulge-bracket environments are unlikely to be a fit.

If this opportunity is of interest, please submit an up-to-date CV in MS Word (.docx) format to fundmanagement@octaviusfinance.com
