  • Produce forward-looking forecasts for key economic indicators, including inflation, growth, fiscal metrics, and external balances, using quantitative frameworks and cycle analysis.

  • Evaluate monetary policy regimes and central bank behaviour, forming views on policy direction and risks across countries of coverage.

  • Identify and analyse cross-country linkages and external factors affecting the region, including global liquidity conditions and commodity market dynamics.

  • Articulate research findings to portfolio managers, contributing to thematic views and market-relevant insights.

  • Lead country-level deep dives and present regional macro themes in global research and investment forums.

  • Work collaboratively with research and investment colleagues across geographies.

  • 4–6 years’ experience in macroeconomic or country research focused on African markets, within a leading investment bank, asset manager, hedge fund, or international institution (e.g. IMF, central bank, or finance ministry).

  • Hands-on experience with macroeconomic and statistical tools such as EViews, STATA, SPSS, and advanced Excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distil complex analysis into concise, investment-relevant conclusions.

  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, resilience, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.

  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills are advantageous.
