This role is highly quantitative and research-driven, with responsibility for macro modelling and econometric analysis across the Scandinavian, Australian, and New Zealand economies. The successful candidate will focus on building robust macro frameworks and forecasting models that directly inform investment views, risk management, and portfolio construction.
The team is seeking a candidate with outstanding academic credentials, strong econometric intuition, and the ability to translate macroeconomic theory into practical, data-driven insights used by investment teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining econometric and quantitative macro models covering Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand
Forecasting key macroeconomic variables such as inflation, growth, and policy dynamics
Producing high-quality macro research to support portfolio positioning and risk decisions
Working closely with PMs and analysts to embed research outputs into the investment process
Analysing global fixed income markets, including rates, inflation, and government bond markets
The ideal candidate will have:
A Master’s degree or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline from a leading university
Experience in quantitative macro research, preferably within a central bank, policy institution, or quantitative research / strategy team
A strong grasp of macroeconomic drivers and fixed income asset classes
Advanced statistical and programming skills (Python, R, MATLAB, or similar)
Up to 5 years’ experience in a relevant research role
The right to work in the UK
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career macro researcher to gain meaningful exposure to the trading and portfolio construction process within a top-tier global macro hedge fund, working in a highly collaborative and intellectually rigorous environment.
