Quantitative Macro Researcher | Global Macro Hedge Fund | New York
We are currently partnering with a highly regarded global macro hedge fund that is continuing to expand its investment platform. The firm is looking to hire a Quantitative Macro Researcher to join its centralised macro research team, which sits at the core of the investment process and works closely with multiple global macro pods.
This is a highly analytical role focused on macro modelling and econometric research, with primary coverage of the Scandinavian, Australian, and New Zealand economies. The role emphasises rigorous macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, and data-driven insight to support trading and risk decisions across the fund.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining econometric and quantitative macro models to forecast key drivers such as inflation, growth, and policy outcomes
Conducting deep macroeconomic research to support portfolio construction and risk management
Working closely with PMs and traders to translate research outputs into investable insights
Analysing global fixed income markets, including rates, inflation, and government bonds
To be considered, candidates should have:
A Master’s degree at minimum in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field from a top university (PhD strongly preferred)
Experience in quantitative macro research, ideally gained at a central bank or policy institution
A strong understanding of macroeconomic drivers and fixed income asset classes
Excellent statistical and programming skills (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, or similar)
Fewer than 4-6 years of professional experience
US work authorisation or eligibility to work in the US
This is a rare opportunity for a junior quantitative macro researcher to gain high visibility within a top-tier hedge fund, with direct exposure to PMs and a clear line of sight to portfolio-level decision-making.
The client intends to interview no more than five candidates, so early applications are strongly encouraged. Please apply with an up-to-date CV and include your availability for an in-depth screening call with one of our directors.
