The Role (Responsibilities)

As a Senior Economist, you will be the architect of data-driven narratives, moving beyond simple analysis to define the strategic direction of the business.

  • Econometric Modelling: Design and execute high-quality econometric models (Causal Inference, ML-integration) to solve pricing, labour, and supply chain challenges.

  • Strategic White Papers: Author high-stakes research papers that translate complex economic findings into clear, actionable business strategies for C-suite stakeholders.

  • Product Innovation: Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to bake economic logic into automated, scalable decision-making systems.

  • Thought Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert on market dynamics and consumer behaviour within the UK and European landscapes.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

  • Education: PhD in Economics or a highly quantitative field (Specialization in Industrial Organization, Applied Microeconomics, or Labor Economics is highly desirable).

  • Experience: 3–6 years of post-PhD experience in economic research, ideally within a fast-paced tech firm, top-tier consultancy, or central bank.

  • Technical Toolkit: Expert proficiency in Python or R; advanced experience with SQL and handling large-scale datasets (Spark/Hadoop).

  • Causal Inference: Deep theoretical and practical understanding of causal identification strategies.

  • Communication: Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
